Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar Heals, Cleanses and Protects the Body

Apple Cider Vinegar, an
old-fashioned home
remedy, users say will
cure arthritis and high
blood pressure, boost
energy and the immune
system and cure you dog
of allergies. Until recently,
no research has supported
these beliefs but new
research from a study
done in Japen shows
that Apple Cider Vinegar
does indeed help with
weightloss.

In the study, 175 Japanese men and women consumed 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple
cider vinegar daily had significanly lowered their body weight and visceral
fat after 12 weeks. Not only that, but the group drinking apple cider vinegar had lost
inches off their waists as well.

Apple Cider Vinegar contains Vitamin C, E and A, plus some B vitamins and potassium but researchers credit the acetic acid in vinegar which helps break down fat. Cider Vinegar also contains calcium, magnesium,  potassium and other trace elements and nutrients. Potassium is great for lowering blood pressure.

Apple Cider Vinegar and the Acid/Alkaline Balance of the Body

Apple Cider Vinegar also helps to restore the alkaline balance of the body when used daily. Studies are now showing that the acidic nature of our Standard American Diet is causing our bodies to become acidic, which leads to chronic health problems, as well as lowered immune systems, leaving us vulnerable to illness and disease.

This is one reason why apple cider vinegar helps to relieve symptoms of colds and sore throats if used promptly when you experience symptoms.

According to users, Apple Cider other benefits are:

  • Detoxify the body
  • Purify the blood
  • Improve Allergies and Asthma
  • Neutralize bacteria to prevent diarrhea and stomach upsets from tainted food
  • Ease muscle cramps and aches
  • Improves Candidia
  • Improves Acne
  • Improves skin tone and complexion
  • Improves Gout
  • Helps Chronic fatigue
  • Helps lower high blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Improves circulation
  • Improves memory
  • Helps dissolve bone spurs, which are excess calcium build-up in the body
  • Helps you to beat those sugar cravings which also aids weightloss.

How Much Apple Cider Do You Need?

Two tablespoons of apple cider three times daily, mixed in 8 ounces of water for optimal benefits. In the Japanese study, participants only drank 1-2 tbs daily for results.

Some advise sipping apple cider vinegar over the course of the day to keep the body detoxified. However, if you choose this method be aware that the acid in apple cider vinegar can harm tooth enamel. It’s best to sip over 5 minutes or so and  brush your teeth or eat a piece of cheese afterward.

Since Apple Cider Vinegar is very acidic, it is best to rinse your mouth after drinking it.

Which Apple Cider is Best?

The very best apple cider vinegar is raw and organic, with the “mother” still in it. Most commercial apple cider brands are more acidic and could cause gastric upsets or increase problems with tooth enamel. Liquid apple cider is preferable to pill form.

Apple Cider Sipping Recipes

One tablespoon apple cider vinegar mixed with 4 ounces of water.

Other ingredients to add, adjust for personal taste:

  • 1 tablespoon of honey, which is a natural antibiotic
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses which contains iron

I add a few drops of stevia to my apple cider vinegar and water to help sweeten it up and it's pretty easy to drink that way.

You can also mix your apple cider with tea, grape juice or apple juice if you don’t like the taste when mixed with water. Try different combinations until you find one you do like.

Other Uses For Apple Cider:

  • For a sore throat, mix a teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of honey with 4  ounces of warm water and gargle.
  • For muscle cramps and arthritis pain, make a compress of apple cider vinegar and leave on affected area.
  • Dab a little vinegar on mosquito or insect bites to take away the itching.
  • Brunettes can use vinegar as a hair rinse to add luster and shine. Use ½ cup vinegar to ½ cup water to pour through hair. Don’t rinse out.
  • Apply to sunburn to cool and heal.
  • Freshen wilted vegetables by mixing 2 TBS cider vinegar to 2 cups of water. Spray on veggies.
  • Add 1TBS to eggs when making hard boiled eggs to keep them from cracking.

Use Apple Cider Vinegar for Dogs

Apple cider vinegar can also be used for your dog if it has itchy skin or as a flea remedy. Put into a spray bottle and spray onto your  dog’s coat. Work it into the fur and allow to air dry. If your dog’s itching has caused broken skin, dilute the apple cider vinegar with an equal part water and then spray. Many report itching stops within 24 hours.

Add a little apple cider to your dog’s drinking water to help relieve allergies, flea problems and arthritis.

You can also use apple cider vinegar as a final rinse in your dog’s bath to keep fleas and itchy skin at bay. Apple cider vinegar will leave your dog’s coat shiny and soft.
