Healthy Dip Recipe Ideas
Would you like your kids to eat more veggies? Include some of these healthy dips in their school lunch or at dinner and they'll love veggies! Serve any of these dips at parties with veggies or baked chips for a healthier dip option.
Faux Healthy Ranch Dip Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fat free sour cream or 2 cups low fat plain yogurt
- one package of Ranch dressing mix
Or make your own ranch dressing mix with:
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons minced, fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons minced, fresh dill
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 clove garlic, crushed)
- 2 tablespoons grated onion (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Mix ingredients thoroughly and refrigerate for at least one hour so ingredients can blend. Serve with veggies of your choice.
Healthy Guacamole Recipe:
Note: if sending this in a school lunch, be sure to put into a zip loc plastic bag and remove all air to keep avocados from turning dark
- 2 ripe avocados, peeled and mashed with a fork
- 1 medium-small tomato, diced
- dash of Tabasco sauce or cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
- 1/4 to 1 teaspoon cilantro
Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate for one hour.
