Recipe for Baked Pears with Cranberries and Walnuts
This luscious dessert is quick, easy and takes great. It will help satisfy your craving for something sweet but is very low in calories.
Beaufitul enough to serve guests, this easy dessert recipe, is filled with superfoods like pomegranate, cranberries and walnuts. Walnuts
contain healthy fats that are actually good for weightloss and cranberries boost the immune system. Pomegranate juice is a wonderful source of Vitamin C and antioxidants.
These easy baked pears can also be served with some low fat frozen vanilla yogurt or low-fat whipped topping. Try sprinkling a bit of metabolism boosting nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice on top.
Ingredients
4 ripe but firm pears, peeled, cored and halved
1/3 c pomegranate juice
1/2c dried cranberries
1/4c chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Arrange pears in a baking dish with the cut side facing up.
Slowly pour pomegranate juice over them.
Sprinkle cranberries and walnuts on top and dust lightly with nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until fruit is soft.
